How to create your own super-gero in Hellfire ? and gain access to two new levels:

Create an ASCII-textfile with the name COMMAND.TXT (fx in notepad or Edit). 

The file needs only to have one line with the following text:

cowquest;theoquest;bardtest;multitest;

Save the file in your Hellfire-folder. Next time you start up a multiplayer you´ll have access to a Bard-Character. It uses the Rogue-icons, but can yield two swords at once (NICE!).

You also gain access to the two quests. 

If you add barbariantest to the end of COMMAND.TXT, You´ll be equiped with a barbarian. They have the same skills as warriors. But are 270 times stronger.

I found an intersting way to make lots of money in hellfire. (easier and faster than the duplications mentioned already).

1st:
You need at least 20,000 gold (maybe more, I always had at least 70,000 when using this method).

2nd:
Make sure every Inventory slot is full (if you put gold in the slots, it must be 10,000 in each).

3rd:
Drop 10,000 gold on the ground in a single pile.

4th:
Put a potion or something (does not really matter) in the empty slot.

5th:
Drop 9,000 gold from one of the remaining slots (of 10,000 gold)

6th:
Exit the Inventory.

7th:
Pick up the 10,000 gold pile.

You should get the message about not being able to pick up anymore and drop the 10,000 gold back on the ground. But if you check your Inventory you should have the filled the 1,000 gold slot with 10,000 and still have the gold on the ground (a pile of 9,000 and a pile of 10,000) Just keep doing this until you get bored.. and you should have all the gold you could ever want and none of it will be picked up as duplicate items!! Have fun, and you no longer need to worry about buying that item you always wanted.

General Hints:

If you can't defeat them, run, refill your health and mana potions and make a town portal but only at a safe place. You don't want monsters attacking you when you return from town , do you? Save your game when you see no monsters around you.Do not save your game when you die or you will lose your money and inventory!

Spellbooks are difficult to find throughtout the game, so keep a lot of money to buy them from the witch. If you find a piece of useless weapon in your inventory, why not sell it to buy a spell? The witch keeps on changing her spellbooks each time you visit her so buy some rare spells like book of berserk, immolation or you will never find it again.

I played this game without any trainer so if there is any trainer for this game, pls inform me.Maybe I will have another go at it.There is an unofficial multi-player patch for this game, but some says it has bugs, like items left on town disappears.Try it yourself and find out.No Battlenet support though.

Kill the defiler and get a map. Right-click the map and you will see a location on where to drop it. The location is near the cathedral, a tomb like place with a devil statue-like figure on the tomb.Drop the map there and you will see a opening.

1. Cornerstone of the World:
You have to drop something either gold or some weapon/armour before you can hear somebody telling you something about the cornerstone. Before I drop something on it, I saw some gold on it.But the gold is 0 gold. Pretty interesting, heh? Some say it is the place where you left your gold or possessions on it and left the game so you can use another character to take the possessions. Sort-of a exchange of possesions between different characters you play.

2. I noticed there are no shrines in either the Hive or the Crypt. Maybe the Sierra guys can include some.

3. I found a Town shrine in the dungeons, opens up a town portal for me.

Strategies to fight the new monsters:
*************************************

1. Flesh Thing:
This monster is huge with a sting-like tail , like the bosses themselves, quite scary isn't it? Use stone curse on them one by one. They move very slower, so lure them out with u standing in front of a door.You can use lighting also while many of them are gathered together.

2. Fire Bat:
This bat shoots out balls of fire. It resists fire I think. Use lighting or chain lighting when many of them are around.

3. Hell Bat:
Use the same strategy as the Fire Bat.

4. GraveDigger:
Use Fireball or berserk. Look out for his shovel.

5. HellBoar:
Their tusks thrown you back giving you no chance to attack them, so fire firebots before they get to you. Use lighting also, they are look strong but they are weak.When they die, they look like paper hellboars.

6. Hork Spawn:
Use lighting, they look like small ballish things jumping around, quite cute but have to kill them anyway. Lighting or firebolt will burst their bubbles.

7. Hork Demon:
This monster gives birth to one Hork Spawn at a time.Use stone curse on him and let your golem punch him while you watch :), or you can do the hacking yourself. If you do not enabled the new theoquest, he will drop an amulet after he dies, but if u enabled the new quest, he will drop a cute teddy bear which squeaks when you click him.

8. Psychorb:
Eyelish things that look like octopus. Fires balls of magic at you. The magic blasts minus a lot of blood from u, so watch out! The effect looks cool , but not so cool if you die. Fire lighting , chain lighting or use lighting walls. The other thing you can do to kill this monster is to learn the guardian / golem spell and get some infravision scrolls. Use infravision to see where they are and then use guardians to kill them.

9. Nechromorb:
Another relative to Psychorb. Use the same strategy as in Psychorb.

10. Spider Lord:
Use firebolt/fireball as it is resistant to lighting I think.It spits balls of acid at you like the acid beasts in diablo. Aim probably with firebolts and you kill them b4 they kill you.
11. Lich:
Use fireball, guardians, stone curse and mana shield. The magic blasts minus a lot of blood from you so watch out. One or two fireballs should kill this thing. I always use 2 guardians to kill 1 lich.Or you can use stone curse and hack quickly at them.

12. Arch Lich:
A relative to Lich.Use the same strategy.

13. Torch ant:
Use lighting and have a good aim. They always run away when you chase them. Can be deadly if many are around.

14. The Reaper:
This guy is red in color and uses the knife used to harvest corn as a weapon. Quite huge like the flesh thing. Use lighting or chain lighting or berserk.

15. Stinger:
Use fireballs/firebolts or simply let your guardians kill them. It is resistant to lighting so don't use lighting or charged bolt against them.

16. Venomtail:
A relative to Stinger.Use the same strategy.

17. Lashworm:
Use guardians on them. 2 guardians should be enought for 1 Lashworm.

18. The Shredded:
This looks exactly like the old monster in diablo -The Unraveler. This monster will not appear until you use a trainer with diablo or you played Hellfire in the Hive level. Mummy-like character which floats around quite deadly when many crowd around you. Make them fight against each other instead Use the berserk spell or lighting.Firebots also work. But it takes many firebolts to kill one.Use fireballs, is stronger.

19. Skeleton Demon:
Appears also in old diablo, have to use trainer to enable it. Fires blue blasts of magic. Use Stone curse or berserk, holy bolt or many firebolts should kill him.

20. Winged Demon:
A relative to Skeleton Demon.Use holy bolt/lighting/firebolts/ berserk.

21. Biclops:
Carrys a huge axe around. Two eyes monster when compared to one-eyed monster in a cyclops. Lighting/guardians should work on him or stone curse. It takes 3 balls of fire from my guardian to kill one of them.

22. DevilKin Brute:
This is an old monster in diablo, will not appear until you use a trainer with diablo or played Hellfire. Use lighting/firebolt or use a sword or staff to hack at him when your damage is high especially he has the club or many surrounding you.

23. Tomb Rat:
Use berserk/firebolt/fireball/lighting. The rat is quite strong, so maybe he will be a strong helper to you as in berserk spell.

24. Lord Sayter:
This is an old monster in diablo, will not appear until you use a trainer with diablo or played Hellfire. Use lighting or fireball or a staff to kill him.

25. Crypt Demon:
This monster is a giant version of the tomb rat. But it is harder to kill as its skin is hard like metal or metallic in nature. I uses lighting or lighting wall to kill this guy.Not sure whether fireball works on him.When using lighting, you can hear the sounds like metals clashing against each other.

26. Felltwin:
This monster looks like the Invisible Lord from the old diablo, hidden in the diablo CD, now merges as Felltwin. Use firebolt or fireballs. Looks like a relative to The Hidden but has 2 heads.

27. Archanon:
Ant-like creature. Fireball/firebolts should work on him.

Interesting Notes:

1. In the Hive level, use plenty of guardians and 1 golems should be enought to help you clear the level. I use the mage when I am trying this strategy.The only spell I use are mostly firebolt when they get closer to me.

2. You cannot use berserk at the bosses at Hive or Crpyt level and to the horn-like monsters that charge at you in the caves.

3. You can use the elemental spells at Hell level to draw out the blood knights one by one. The blood knights and the bosses are quite angry when you use guardian and elemental on them. Don't use too many guardians or elemental. Use one at the time or it defeats the purpose. The blood knights are resistant to lighting so don't use lighting or charged bolt.It's no use.Use fireball instead.

4. Use berserk when some of the monsters are resist to both lighting and fire.

5. When using berserk, stay clear of the monster you cast the spell on. The monster will help you kill the other monsters. If there are no monsters around him, he will come and find you.So there is no point in using berserk with one monster.

6. The staff of jester - new staff BTW, this staff changes the magic each time you uses it. So you can use many spells with just one staff.

7. Some monsters in the crypt are said to be resistant to lighting and fire but excessive fire/lighting kills them.

8. Monsters in the Crypt/Hive don't usually go chase you when you put lighting walls or firewalls.So u can use firewalls/lighting walls to escape when u are out of blood or mana.

9. There are two hidden quests in hellfire and one new character class you can use -the Bard. The 2 new quests are - The little girl and the Jersay?s Jersey. These two are easter eggs. Below, I will talk briefly abt them.

Hidden Quests in Hellfire:
**************************

1. The Little Girl:
She will ask you to find Theodore, which is a teddy bear.She and her teddy bear are playing near the overgrown vegetable garden when a huge bug came out and grabbed her teddy instead of her. This little girl will appear after you went to the Hive.After you find her teddy bear, she will give you a Drake's Amulet which increases your mana by 48.Quite useless amulet so i advised you to keep the teddy bear and deprive this little girl of her teddy. After you complete this quest, she will be standing near the tree with her teddy that's if you returned her the teddy. But you cannot talk to her after you complete the quest.

2. The Jersay?s Jersey:
The Complete Nut will be there instead of the farmer if you enable this quest. This dressed-like a Cow Man will give you a rune bomb but not the auric amulet. He will ask you to help him find his brown suit not the gray one, as he looks more presentable in it.His home is invaded by the bugs and he ran out in his "cow suit". My mage was at level 15 and my monk was at 28 when he gave me the quest.

The brown suit I found is at Hive level 4.

The grey suit can be found on level 3.

I returned the suit and get the Bovine Plate. This is a unique item and I think its the only plate and one of the kind that stands when you drop it on the ground and it looks like a cow costume.

Here's a description of the Bovine Plate, in case you guys never get it:

Armor Class: 150
Indestructible
+50 % light radius
Resist all: +30 %
-5 damage from enemies
Spells are decreased 1 level

There is no voice from this guy when u talked to him unlike the towners and the little girl. Maybe the Sierra guys can fix this in their upcoming patch? After you complete this quest, he will wear his reindeer costume and now looks more handsome than before. He will *Moo* when u approached him again.

New Character Class - The Bard:
*******************************

This new character uses the same graphics like the rogue. But she can use two swords at one time and the damage is the sum of the two swords.I try this character and found out that she is quite weak in the dungeons..guess you have to build up her strength and find more health potions as there are quite few in the dungeons. Maybe she can carry both unique swords and the damage is higher! Like the Grisworld edge and flacon's talon..imagine the sum of the damage of these two swords together! I have not tried this yet..Try it yourself and let me know via e-mail.

How to defeat the Defiler in the Hive in level 4:
*************************************************

This creature is quite tough, he chases you so fast, and he is quite angry when I uses the guardian spell. If you did not defeat this creature, you cannot go to the crypt level. I have to sell all my valuable stuff to get the stone curse spell.Use stone curse and mana shield a few times and use a staff with damage like 8-16. Other spells would not work with this creature.

How to defeat the Na-Krul Boss in the Crypt:
********************************************

If you never find the torn note, I guess you never stand a single chance against him. Although, some may say, you do not need to find the notes to defeat them. The torn notes tells you that you have to read the spellbooks each one in a different sequence to get the door to open. Try many combinations till you get it right! Do not use the lever to open the door as Na-Krul will not be weakened and it will be hard to kill him! It takes 2 fireballs from my mage to kill him.

Use your search skill to find the 3 pieces of torn notes.The notes will appear to be white in color. His damage is quite high and when he hits you, you get thrown back, this is when he is not weakened. My character is level 26 and I am the monk.

Right-click to read the message in level 4. The torn note if you put all three together, they will form a message which tells of a person who trap the creature within the great walls and wrote the journals outside, only spells from the spellbooks outside the walls can weaken the creature.

If you use the lever to open the door, read on. The message gives you a clue to defeat the monster. Analyse it carefully. I keep getting myself killed in level 4 in the crypt level by this monsters, all the other monsters I have killed them all except this one. I have released this monster from the walls and he is standing just near the place he was trapped. I guess I use the lever to released him. So he was so strong.Now, use the mana spell, and go to one of the spellbooks sequently and read them out.The monster will chase you but keep reading and refilling your mana.After you read the third spellbook, use the fireball spell on the monster. It took me just 3 or 4 fireballs to finish him off. Before I never read the spellbooks, he was so tough even fireballs has no effect on him. Now he is a wimp, so easy to kill. After you have killed him, there is a orange patch on the ground. The weapons I get after killing him are the book of apocalypse and a teleport staff, a samurai sword and a war bow.

How to defeat diablo in the Hell level:
***************************************

Diablo is tougher than before, he does not stops shooting out balls of fire when you stop walking. I am using the Bard against Diablo.She is Lvl 26, Strength 89,Damage 52, Vitality 61. I use mainly mana shield, immolation spell, stone curse, golem and infravision to clear the Hell Levels.As for Blood Knights and Advocates, use immolation and golem to kill them, quite useful if many are around you.If there is one advocate against you use stone curse or golem on him.When you are at Lvl 16 where Diablo is, use teleport spell to go into one of the four cages where the Blood knights and Advocates are, and then use immolation to kill them.

When your blood/mana is low again, teleport out of the cage and refill your mana and blood and the Blood knights and Advocates will not chase you as they are trapped inside the cage and then go back again. Do not pull the levers untill you killed all the blood knights and advocates in the 3 cages where Diablo is not in them. Finally for the cage Diablo in, release all the levers in the cages.Use infravision to see whether Diablo is in the cage.

As for Diablo, I use golem and manashield against him after I have cleared the Blood Knights and Advocates around him.
Find a block of wall, square one preferred. I run around the wall and have Diablo to chase me , then I use a Golem to fight with him.The Golem will last 5 seconds I think.After the golem is killed by Diablo, summon another one to fight with Diablo. Refill your mana while Diablo is busy fighting with him. Do it about 5 or 6 times and Diablo will be killed by your golems. Watch the final ending of the game after that.
