THE QUEST FOR THE GOLDEN EGGCUP - OLD VERSION /by Harvey Lodder/

Here will be given a complete solution. This game also depends of some random
elements, so from time to time it is not possible to give exact step by step
solution. However, I tried to formalize the solution as much as possible, and
given solution will work in the most of cases. However, save the game position
often. So, it sometimes goes wrong, reload the saved game position.

E, S, TAKE ROBE, WEAR ROBE (it glowes in dark), N, W, N, E, EXAMINE CABINET,
TAKE GOLDEN EGG, W, W, S, S, TAKE BEANS, N, N, D, D, D, E, N, GIVE BEANS (the
guard will explode), TAKE BOTTLE, N, D, N, N, E, N, N, N, SIT ONTO SEAT (you
will be teleported in another room), N, RING BELL (to call a raft), GO ONTO
RAFT, N, N, E, GIVE BOTTLE (to witch; she will give to you a wand), W, N, N, E,
E, E, DROP WAND (Thoron must not be here, else he will steal everything you
drop; if this happens, reload saved game position), DROP GOLDEN EGG, W, S, U,
TAKE BRONZE EGG, D, S, S, S, S, U, U, W, TAKE SILVER EGG, E, D, D, N, N, N, N,
N, E, DROP SILVER EGG (be aware of Thoron), DROP BRONZE EGG, W, W, W, S, S, E,
TAKE CAGE, SWEAR (this is the only way to enter God\'s dungeon), TAKE KEY, DIG
SAND, OPEN TRAPDOOR, D, S, W, W, E, TAKE BIRD (a cage is needed for this), W,

ROBE, TAKE WAND, WAVE WAND (a hook will transport you accross a crevasse), E,

bird will kill the guard), E, READ SIGN (it will give you a hint what to do),

Note: this is not the only solution.
Hints:
------
- Examine everything what you can see, some messages are very humourous
- If you want more humour, climb into train to find dead Sherlock, then arrest
both Thoron and Dandalf for a crime when you meet them. Type GIVE BODY when
Thoron says \"Give me your body\"
- If Thoron steal something from you, reload a saved game position (no help)
- If Dandalf steal you the magic wand, reload a saved game position (no help)
- If Thoron or Dandalf climb on the raft just before you enter on it, the raft
will go out; in this case ring the bell again and try climbing again
- You must swear once, to enter the dungeon; if you swear again, there will no
be an escape from the dungeon
Comment:
--------
Good game (a parody to many other adventures), with a lot of humour, but
without pictures. So, search for a new version, with a lot of good pictures.
However, although the location map is nearly the same, the exact scenario for
solving is quite different between old and new version. It is a pity that some
humorous messages which are present in the old version (try EXAMINE TOALET) are
removed in the new version, probably due to lack of the memory. Easy to solve,
so it is a good for a beginners. Written in Quill, so the parser is strictly
verb-noun parser.
