Virtual Pool 3 No-CD Patch v2 Instructions

1. Install the game from the original CD
2. Get a SafeDisc-free version of VP3.EXE, either by letting run
Risc\'s UnSafeDisc v2.x (v1.x for newer patches downloaded from
www.interplay.com/vp3) over the installed file or downloading a
patched one at www.gamecopyworld.com
3. Replace the old VP3.EXE by the patched one
4. Go to the installation path and create the following directories:
md \\ad
md \\ad\\movie
As an alternative you can run VP3MOVIE.BAT to generate empty (6kb)
movie files as a substitution for the real movies. If you do so,
continue with step 6!
5. Copy the content of the movie-directory from CD-ROM to ...\\ad\\movie:
copy :\\movie\\*.* \\ad\\movie
6. Copy VP3CRACK.EXE to the installation path and start it THERE
7. Additional note #1:
VP3CRACK.EXE should work on every SafeDisc-cracked version. It uses a
search/replace algorithm instead of patching by constant file offsets.
8. Additional note #2:
For those who wonder about a second version of my patch...
The v2 patch was needed due to some code change on the CD-Check
routines since (as far as I know) VP3 v3.0.9.9!
Now VP3CRACK.EXE in fact has two different methods to patch VP3.EXE
and will choose the right one or wants you to download a newer
No-CD patch if both methods fail.
9. Additional note #3:
This patch is quick and dirty. A known bug is that a patched VP3.EXE
won\'t run properly on computers without floppy disk a: installed! ;)
At least this bug is supposed to exist, I couldn\'t test it...
